The region’s leading wines and spirits trade fair, ProWine Asia (Singapore) is jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and Informa Markets, and will co-locate once again with FHA-Food & Beverage at Singapore Expo.

Asia-Pacific’s alcoholic beverage (beer, wine and spirits) market is expected to register a CAGR of 4.41% through to 2023, according to a recent report by Mordor Intelligence1. The market is growing at a rapid pace due to the increased demand for premium and super premium alcohol, with the most widely consumed type of alcoholic beverage being distilled spirits which represent 50% of the consumption in the Southeast Asian and Western Pacific regions.

New Leadership for Global ProWein Portfolio: Bastian Mingers Named Global Head for Wine & Spirits and Director of ProWein


A change is coming to the leadership for the global ProWein portfolio. Effective April 1, 2019, Bastian Mingers will be the new Global Head for Wine & Spirits and Director of ProWein at Messe Düsseldorf in Germany. The 35-year-old will take over the position from Marius Berlemann, who in turn will become the General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai Co. Ltd., with project and HR responsibility for the entire Messe Düsseldorf portfolio in China. The move allows Berlemann to remain closely involved with ProWine China and ProWine Asia (Hong Kong) while promoting further expansion by Messe Düsseldorf from directly within China.

Food&HotelAsia returns even bigger and better in its 40th year


The most comprehensive international food and hospitality biennial mega trade event in the region, Food&HotelAsia (FHA), will return from 24 to 27 April 2018 to two venues – Singapore Expo and Suntec Singapore. It will house its biggest-ever industry congregation with 4,000 international exhibitors from more than 70 countries and regions, an increase of over 800 exhibitors, or 25 per cent, compared to its last edition. The event’s total floor area spans 119,500 sqm, 23 per cent increase from 97,000 sqm.
